I have been putting things right in Savannah homes for fourteen years, first on site with a building firm and since 2018 on my own. Most of my work is the sort of job that is too small for a contractor and too awkward for a Saturday morning: a door that has dropped, a kitchen that needs its carpentry made good before the fitters arrive, a deck that has gone soft at the joists. I turn up when I say I will, I clear up after myself, and if I cannot do something I will tell you who can.

Fixed six things in an afternoon
I had a list that had been on the fridge since last summer. Azhar went through the whole lot in one afternoon and charged me for the half day he quoted. The bathroom door had been catching for two years and he had it off, planed and back on in twenty minutes.

Honest about what did not need doing
He told me the deck did not need replacing, only two joists and a reseal, which was about a third of what another firm had quoted. Not many people talk themselves out of the bigger job.

The cabinets are beautiful
We had alcove cupboards made for the front room of an 1890s house where nothing is square. They look like they were always there. He scribed them to the wall rather than filling the gap with caulk and you cannot see a join.

Good work, ran a day late
The joinery is excellent and the price was exactly what he quoted at the drawing stage. He was a day later starting than we agreed because a job before us overran, though he did ring to tell us rather than just not turning up.

Deck rebuild on Tybee
Salt air had taken the frame out completely. He lifted a board on the first visit and showed me, which I appreciated. Rebuilt in four days, pulled the permit himself, and it has been through a winter with no movement.

Solid, would use again
Drywall patching and a new hall light. Tidy work and a fair price. Only note is that I had to chase for the invoice, which took a week to come through.

Made good after our kitchen fitters
The fitters left the carpentry in a state and would not come back. Azhar sorted the end panels and the plinth in a morning and it looks like one job rather than two.
